Telecom Technician SLAT experience (Canada various Provinces)

ARCOM is currently hiring for the position of a full-time Telecom SLAT Technician. As the SLAT Technician, you will be an integral part of a customer focused team with great attention to detail and respect for a job well done. Your duties will include” System Turn Up and Test” support to our end customers. Please refer to the below job description for a detailed breakdown of responsibilities:

Technical Responsibilities:
  • The Technician will provide expertise in the area of outside plant network support and central office equipment installation
  • You have a degree, diploma from a technical college or work related training.
  • OSP experience with copper splicing; fiber optic splicing and outside plant copper and fiber networks maintenance, an asset but no a pre-requisite
  • COE experience in telecommunication equipment installation; telecommunication equipment test and turn-up (SLAT); DC power equipment installation and DC power commissioning.
  • ODTR and BERT optical testing experience a must
  • Experience on Nortel’s OME 650 system would be a definite asset.
  • CCNA and telecommunication equipment manufacturer certification preferred.
  • Successful candidates will be self-motivated and able to organize multiple priorities with little supervision
Skills, Capabilities and Experience:
  • Completion of technical college or university
  • Valid Driver's license and submission of a drivers abstract
  • Must be self motivated and able to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Personable and customer service oriented
  • Candidate will need to be comfortable to travel up to 75% of the work schedule.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Applications; Word, Excel and Office
